    An investigation on the causes of students dropout in secondary Schools in Bungoma west district Bungoma county

    The title of the project “causes of student dropout in secondary schools in Bungoma west District of Bungoma County” has been suggested because at a glance “one sees many secondary school students thronging into various schools but later find out, only a handful of form four graduates seem to go full cycle. The researcher wants to find out why the scenario, he is equipped with research questions and questionnaires to help find out what causes this school dropout. The cardinal objectives are; 1. What is the main problem that makes students in secondary school lose interest in schooling, yet they joined school in great number at form one. 2. What causes the learners to run away from schools as they grow physically? The study will seek to find out what teachers and stakeholders are doing to alleviate the problem. These are needed to address the problem because of the waste incurred. Vision 2030 may not be achievable should trends remain unchecked. The researcher has been influenced by Abraham Maslow’s theory of human needs. Hierarchy of needs, somewhere, there seems to be a problem of locating good quality education in Bungoma west District. People in Bungoma seems to solve the problems that affect their immediate surrounding without much care to projected future academic needs pilot the studies carried out locate education achievement below normal despite good climate and agricultural activities and trade links priority not adequately geared toward educating all pupils. Research design to include interviews and filing of questionnaires to ensure reliability and validity a part from considering ethical issues. Research instruments such as data collection techniques and analysis procedure will carefully be used for clarity and honesty. Results of the conclusions will be available to relevant persons for action and appendix including budget work, plan and questionnaires will appear at the end of the research project report.
