dc.description.abstractThis study sought to investigate job satisfaction among primary school teachers in primary schools in Gatanga Sub-County, Murang’a County. The study was guided by the following objectives: to assess the role of remuneration on job satisfaction, in Gatanga Sub-County; to assess the role of working conditions on job satisfaction, to assess the role of professional development on job satisfaction and to find out the impact of job satisfaction on teaching in primary schools in Gatanga Sub County. The study used a descriptive survey design targeting all teachers and head teachers in Gatanga Sub-County. Simple random sampling was used to select 60 teachers while all the head teachers of the sampled schools were automatically included in the study. Aself- administered questionnaire was administered to a sample of 60 teachers while interviews were also carried out with twelve administrators from the twelve sampled primary schools. The data collected was analyzed using the SPSS computer program version 16 and recommendations were made based on the study findings.en_US
