Since time in memorial, civil and political rights have taken precedence over socio-economic rights in Kenya. The promulgation of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 heralded the emergence of a novel category of justiciable human rights in Kenya known as socio-economic rights. Socio-economic rights are expressly provided for and are enforceable in Kenya by dint of the provisions of Article 43 of the Constitution of Kenya.en_US
