Abstract
This paper was interested in the emerging and fluid trends of the typical Bukusu and Keiyo culture on twin children. Birth of twins has a very particular meaning in many Sub-Saharan tribes, as the twins are considered to bring along a message from the ancestors to their living descendants. Their birth is accompanied by very specific rites and a carefully patterned name-giving. The study used qualitative methodologies with descriptive research design and interview methods for data collection. The study found that most community members are moving away from old traditions and cultural practices due to weakening of culture due to modernization laden with the following: Christianity; intermarriages; high literacy level; migration; breakdown of extended families to nuclear families and the economic hardships among other factors.
