Child labour is a challenge towards academic performance and environment of child primary schools. This leads to many children drop out of school to become maids, house boys and idlers in the village. It brought major effects on the community in security and the country at large. This study is about the effects of child labour on academic performance in primary schools in Bahati zone, Bahati Division Nakuru County. The research used qualitative approach to collect the data. The researcher also used the approach because it is descriptive in nature, which uses numerical data to explore traits and situations. It made it easy to interpret and present data using frequency tables, bar graphs and pie charts in percentages. The researcher used survey method to collect the data. This is common method used in educational personally in interview by the researcher through questionnaires. The study was carried out in (4) four primary schools namely Bahati PCEA, Kedirumu primary, Muringa and Murungaru which represented Bahati zone. The researcher chose these schools since other areas are far and roads are flooded by floods. The researcher used simple random sampling techniques whereby every target school had a chance of participating. The teachers balloted differently to get one female and two male in every school. The three teachers were chosen from four schools were automatically the respondents. The sample size included teachers, parents, and learners. The questionnaires were properly designed for each targeted group. The questionnaires were distributed through the head teachers of the proposed schools. The researcher analyzed the data by using frequencies and percentage. Table and pie charts were used for data presentation. During the actual collection of data, the researcher got letter of authorities from the head teacher which she used as introduction to institution that were undergoing research process. After confirmation the researcher took the questionnaires for typing and printing and checked for its accuracy. This study recommended state of self help project to help raise standards of living and creation of awareness of dangers associated with child labour.
