dc.description.abstract | This research was on the effects of drug abuse to academic performance on boys in secondary school in Loitokitok sub-county in Kajiado County in Kenya. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of drug abuse on boys’ academic performance in secondary schools, where most boys have been affected by drugs, causing a drop in their academic performance. The study investigate the appropriate measures that can be put in place to curb the rapid growth of this problem using the behaviorism theory. The research was carried out in Loitokitok Sub-County at Oloitokitok Boys Secondary School and other neighbouring secondary schools where there were research designs, target population, samples and sampling procedures, research instruments, data collection procedures and data analysis procedures.Research design was the plan that gave the glue that holds the research project collectively. A design was applied to structure the research, to illustrate how all of the key components of the research project work together to make an effort to address the essential research questions. The target population was the entire group the researcher was interested in; the group about which the researcher wished to draw conclusions.A data sample was a set of data collected and/or selected from a statistical population by a defined procedure.A sampling procedure was the rules that specified how the system calculates the sample size and it contained information about the valuation of an inspection characteristic during results recording. Research Instruments was the measurement tools (for example, questionnaires) that were designed to obtain data on a topic of interest from research subjects.Data collection was the process of gathering and measuring information on variables of interest, in an established systematic fashion to enable one to answer stated research questions, test hypotheses, and evaluate outcomes.Data analysis was an ongoing activity, which not only answered your question but also gave the directions for future data collection. The findings will be used to make appropriate recommendations regarding establishment of the right measures to curb the vice in the country. | en_US |
