Abstract
This paper discusses the concept of digital libraries, embarking on why it is essential to adopt digitization in the present information intensive era. Besides, this study tries to emphasize on a course or module on digital libraries that ought to be considered for incorporation in the syllabi of graduate and undergraduate levels of library and information science education. It also examines the reasons behind necessity of introducing and adopting digital libraries to, the library and information science professionals at the end of their training
