An investigation on factors leading to poor performance of girls in public primary school Kigoro division Gatanga subcounty

Abstract

This study shall be conducted with an aim of finding out the factors leading to poor performance of girls in public primary schools-Kigoro division. This study shall involve teacher sampled from each zone from division. Socio-economic, socio-culture and school based factors are viewed to be causing a lot of problems in the education in primary schools. This is evident in poor performance of girls who end up completing up to class eight. Although the government is making effort to make sure that all children have access to free secondary education (FPE) a lot has to be done to make sure that the performance of girls is uplifted. This study is aiming at finding out the factors leading to poor performance of girls and how to address them so as to uplift their performance in Kigoro division.
