| dc.description.abstract | The study was set to investigate the high growth rate of tertiary institutions on the economy of Thika, Kiambu County, Kenya The study was prompted by continued increase in tertiary institutions year after year. The study was to seek the factors contributing to the high increase in tertiary institutions, their positive contributions as well as their negative contribution on economy. The study was carried out within Thika Town in various tertiary institutions. The research used questionnaires and interview which gave more accurate results since the research methods were intended to study factors resulting to high growth rate of tertiary institutions and their contributions on the economy. The researcher used these questionnaires and later analyzed and presented the data by use of tables, pie charts and bar graph. The study came up with the summary on the increase in tertiary institutions to the economy of Thika, Kiambu County. The research also came up with various conclusions in relation to the findings of the study. Several recommendations were made to various concerned parties on how to improve weak areas and also to correct the errors noticed. Areas for further study were outlined to stimulate further research in the displayed areas. | en_US |
