Publication: Effects of socio-economic and school-based factors to Secondary school learners in access to education in Mashuuru Division Mashuuru District Kajiado County Kenya

The aim of the research study was to investigate the effect of social-economic and school based factors to secondary learners in access of education in Mashuuru division, Mashuuru district .The key objectives of the study was to determine the students altitudes towards access of education, to find out the effects of social-economic activities to participations of secondary school learners to access of education ,to find out the effects of external and internal school environment to access to education in Mashuuru district. The theory of education which governed the research is molding theory of teaching which considered teaching as a process of behavior modification of shaping and molding the student’s behavior personality in desired pattern. Also involved principles of stimulus response theory including operant conditioning by Skinner (1932) .The study viewed of literature which was written by different authors from different sources. The research employed a descriptive survey research design. The target population was 200 form four students’100 teachers and 100 parents. Purposive and systematic sampling techniques were employed in the study. Questionnaires were used as instruments of collecting data for the teachers and students. An interview was also used for some of the parents. Data analysis was done using descriptive and inferential statistics. The data was presented using frequencies, pie charts, percentages graphs and tables
