dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the study was to assess the student’s attitude towards the choice of Agriculture as an optional subject for girls in secondary schools in Kathiani division, Machakos county. Research objectives included to find out the school factors ,individual factors and socio economic factors influence the attitude of girls towards selection of Agriculture. It is based on Abrahams Maslow’s theory of motivation which was advanced in 1943.The conceptual framework was given and a review of related literature based on the research objectives. Chapter three gave the research design and methodology where the descriptive survey method was used and a random sampling selected to acquire the required sample size for the study. The total target population is 5097 and a sample of 118 was attained. Questionnaires and interview schedules were used as the research instruments. Data was analysed through tables and figures like pie charts and bar graphs. Chapter five will give the summary, conclusions and recommendations.en_US
