dc.description.abstractThis project provides the causes of school dropout in primary schools in Kibwezi zone in Kibwezi district. This project provides an in depth review and analysis of literature on drop out from school and focus on pupils who have gained access to school and failed to complete the basic education cycle. The main discussion focused on why and how pupils drop out of school, the effects of school dropout and the measurers that can be applied to stop dropout rates in Kibwezi zone. The researcher looked at literature in relation to households, community and social context of dropping out as well as school supply and practices. Qualitative and quantitative designs were used during the study. The researcher learnt that schools near Kibwezi town are the ones highly stricken by highest number of dropouts and orphans .The researcher therefore tried to find ways of curbing the problem. some of the guardians, teachers and learners had a negative attitude towards the affected and sometimes tend to offend or mistreat them. The researcher used questionnaires and interviews to collect data. The data collected was analysed inform of bargraphs and tables.en_US
