Publication: The impact of menstruation period on the girl child academic performance in Tseikuru sub- county

This study seeks to investigate the impact of menstruation period towards girl child academic performance in Kenyan Secondary Schools. The Kenyan government through the ministry of education and national development has put more effort through social, economic and cultural means to compensate and improve the academic performance in secondary schools which is affected by their experience of menstruation period. The study indents to investigate the impact of menstruation period to the schoolgirls which mostly leads to the poor performance of the girls academically. In regard to this, therefore the study aims to find out the possible solutions to the negative impacts of the same. The variety of views and opinions from different researchers and authors about the impacts of this menstruation period to the schoolgirls shall be obtained by the researcher to fully investigate and find out exactly what happens about the topic. The study uses two tools of data collection which includes the questionnaire and the interview. The use of questionnaire aims to obtain the data from the girls and the female teachers. On the other hand interview shall be used to collect the information from the school nurses (matrons) and also the women teachers. The collected and analyzed data shall therefore be presented in tables showing the frequencies and percentages including their interpretations. Both questionnaire and interview shall provide the data for analysis. In finalizing, the researcher therefore will discuss the analyzed data and give out the results. She will give out the conclusions from the objectives of the study and recommendations in relation to the successes and failures recognized in the study
