dc.description.abstractThe study is aimed at improving our curriculum and helping and/or motivating and improving the students’ attitude. By creating an enabling environment students are able to achieve their goals in school and also nurture their talents through the various mechanisms and activities put in place. Through psychology the various parties concerned with education was able to cater for individual differences in schools and know the roots of these differences. The study will deal and look at the various educational systems that have been put in place and how best to can improve them. This study is an investigation into the curriculum improvement in changing students’ attitude and motivation of Kenya. Due to the geographical and administrative vastness of the kenya this study focuses on Nyahururu sub county. Nyahururu sub-county is one of the sub counties of Kenya and it typifies the educational structure and practice of Kenya The study involves teachers and students from ten secondary schools from each of the educational zones in Nyahururu sub-county (a total of 12 schools). A focus group of 37 head teachers across Nyahururu sub county will also be studied and the views of a cross section of students (90 students from each secondary school) are sought. The background information on education in Kenya and Nyahururu sub county as well as the reasons for this study are discussed in the introduction. A review of the literature on morale and motivation in African countries and other international studies is presented. The study employs ethnographic multiple cases study and focus group methods which included a semi-structured focus group interview, participant observation and a self-administered questionnaire. Research methods and findings are discussed and analyzed and from these emerged a motivation modelen_US
