Abstract
This research project was aimed at investigating the factors influencing teaching and learning of chemistry in Kitui central District- Kitui county. The researcher examined the strategies, used by chemistry teachers, and the challenges they face in teaching and learning of Chemistry. This study was conducted in six secondary schools in Kitui Central District. Data was collected from 18 chemistry teachers and 60 students. Quantitative research paradigm will be employed in this study. Data was collected by use of questionnaires’. Descriptive statistics will be used to analyze the data that is percentages and frequencies by use of questionnaires. The data was analyzed using frequency distribution and percentages.
