Abstract
ABSTRACT Despite the rapid growth of education in Kenya since independence, unrest in secondary schools has been a major and great constraints in secondary school education. Many young people have been forced to drop out of school before completing secondary school level after causing unrest in secondary schools. National leaders have been demanding that, communities and families take major steps to educate students on importance of not causing unrest in school but unrest crisis has remained as a major challenge to them. The economic consequences of unrest in secondary schools are severe. This research project is aimed at investigating the causes of unrest in secondary schools in Taveta sub-county in the Coastal region. This study will consider the students in all forms in selected secondary schools to establish the main causes of unrest in secondary schools in this region. The study will use questionnaires and interview guides to the students and other education stakeholders. The researcher will employ both qualitative and quantitative data with an aim of coming up with a descriptive survey. The views from the interviewers will be used to establish the main causes of unrest in secondary schools in Taveta Sub-County in the Coastal region.
