Influence of Community involvement in school learning. A Case study of secondary schools in Garissa Sub-County Garissa County

In most North Eastern Kenyan schools, there has been a rampant case of poor community involvement in the school setup that has affected learning of schools generally. This study therefore will be undertaken to establish the influence of Community involvement in school learning in Garissa Sub County Garissa County. The objectives will be: to identify the effects of community involvement in school learning, determine the relationship between the community and school management and establish the relationship between Somali community and school academic performance. The literature review is based on the relationship between community involvement and the school learning. The review consulted various sources in relation to the subject scope. In research methodology simple random sampling and stratified random sampling procedures were used. Questionnaires as instruments for data collection were applied by the research in collecting data from the respondents. In chapter four data collected was well presented in form of tables, pie charts, graphs and figures. Interpretation of the data collected too was well done. In chapter five discussion of the findings in chapter four were discussed, conclusions drawn and recommendations were posed. The recommendations for this research included: the ministry of education to sensitize the community in Garissa Sub-County on the importance of getting involved in the school learning, more resources to be mobilized to support school programme only to mention. Areas for further researcher were also posed to supplement on this study.
