Causes of students’ unrest in secondary school in Yatta District, Machakos.

Abstract

There has been an increase number of schools strikes in yatta District due to students’ unrest where I have based my research. This has lead to problems such as students boycotting , lessons walkouts and pelting of teachers with stones which hurt the relationships between teachers and students. However , despite the magnitude of destruction of properties involving millions of destructions of smooth running of schools caused by students’ unrest, little has been done to find the actual causes of students’ unrest in the distract. The repercussions of these strikes has been students’ school dropouts, poor performance, destruction of properties, parents incurring expenses of rehabilitating the destroyed school properties and psychological torture to all stake holders. The study is done in attempt to provide some insights of the causes and remedies of the students’ unrest in the district.
