Effects of sexual harassment on student’s academic Performance in Mukuyuni zone Makueni county

Abstract

The research was based at Mukuyuni zone schools which was randomly selected. The schools in this county had students who were affected by the vice of sexual harassment. This study aimed at establishing ways of protecting students from being harassed sexually in order to give them peace of mind, conducive and secure environment for their studies. It was noted that students especially girls are dropping out of school as a result of early pregnancies which come as a result of sexual harassment. The researcher tried to find out possible solutions to overcome this problem. The students are not only harassed by teachers or other scholars but also by foreigners and outside were problematic to the day scholars since they have no enough security to and from school. The researcher used the questionnaire to administer the research from the teachers, administration and the students themselves. The data collected was analyzed in form of tables and pie chart.
