Challenges facing learners with hearing impairment in study of english language in inclusive secondary schools in Thika Sub- county, Kiambu county.

Abstract

The purpose of this study wasto find out challenges that learners with hearing impairment were facing in the inclusive secondary schools after the ominde report (1964) recommended that all persons with disabilities to continue learning in regular schools. The literature review of this work outlined the recommendations and suggestions given by different scholars pertaining the education of the learners with special needs especially hearing impaired learners. The information was provided to the educational stakeholders in order to alert them on the challenges these learners were experiencing and also suggested possible successful strategies and methods to use.
