The effects of single parenting in the education of student in Kajiado County.

Abstract

Parental presence during the primary years constitutes as a matter of fact, a noteworthy input in the course of integral growth and development of the child. An off cut the survey in early childhood development centres in Loitokitok clearly disclosed that a substantial number of student are being brought up by one parent habitually the mother independently. The tenancy of the study was to gather necessary introduction on diverse parenting patterns influencing child development in Loitokitok, Kajiado County. The research founded effects of parenting patterns on child’s moral, social, physical and emotional development and education.The study revealed that most predominant of family at Kajiado county is the single parent family. It comprised of 55% of the respondents. The study exposed that the holistic development of most student in single Mather families is pitiable due to the fact that their rudimentary needs are not sufficiently met as a result of asymmetrical and meagre income in the family. Such student experience lack of ample attention and affection, henceforth developing frame of mind of insecurity and low slung self-esteem. The study found momentous connection and association between the economic status quo of single mother families and child development. Due to economic destitution student have been forced into rigorous activities at tender age in order to earn their living hence infringing them with their rights of not being made to work before attaining a certain age per the constitution.
