dc.description.abstractThis study is be carried out to investigate the challenges facing learners with disabilities in accessing education in public schools in Athi River district. The research is about challenges facing learners with disabilities in accessing education in public primary schools in Athi River district. Information in the literature review was obtained from books, journals and reports from the libraries and also from the internet. Information in the literature so far show that there is not much documented evidence to show that inclusive education has been a success for the past 20 years. However, there is hope that in future, disabled learners will be able to enjoy education as their normal counterparts. The researcher used quantitative research design to facilitate the process of collection, interpretation and analysis of data collected. The data was collected mainly by questionnaires and observation guide. The respondents consisted of 40 students and 20 teachers. The findings from literature review show that indeed a lot ought to be done to help disabled learners enjoy education. The findings in the chapters show that disabled learners face incredible challenges in their effort to try and get education just like the rest of learners.en_US
