dc.description.abstractPositive team’s attitude and consequent effective of learning strategies has greatly improved learner’s performance in Eldoret East District in Kenya. Most secondary schools have continuously posted decline results in English subject in the Kenya certificate of secondary education (K.S.C.E) examination. For this last five years most public schools has attained a mean grade ranging from 1.4205 to 5.1023 between the year 2009 and 2013 out of the possible negative 2 drop points. This poor performance has been blamed on factors like poor teaching methods and effect of ‘sheng’ language from empirical study that has been done on the link between methodology of teaching English and performance of English subject. That study was investigating the influence of teaching method towards academic achievement in English subject in public secondary school in Eldoret east district. The study was guided by Social cultural theory was originally coined by Wertsch in 1985 and derived from the work of Lev Vygotsky and Vygotsky circle in Moscow from 1920s onwards. The population consisted 270 teachers of English subject in the Eldoret east district. Sample random sampling technique was used to select a sample of 54 teachers. Descriptive survey and co relational study designs was adopted for the study. Data will be collected through questionnaires and indirect observation of the data was analysed using Ms Excel 2007 and tabulate accordingly. Conclusions and subsequent recommendations were made. The research hopes the findings of the study would help education policy makers to identify and motivate attitudes associated with good performanceen_US
