Violent behaviour is not a new phenomenon in the contemporary educational system. It is manifested in the form of rioting, sexual violence, fighting and bullying. These destructive activities contribute to physical disabilities, drop out and poor academic performance among students. The purpose of the study will be establish the perceived factors contributing to violent behaviour among public secondary school students in Mwingi sub- county ,Kitui county Kenya. The study will be based on social leaning theory by Bandura. A descriptive survey research will be adopted. The study population composed of students, guidance and counseling teachers and the deputy principals. Questionnaire and in-depth interview guides will be used to collect data from teachers’ and students. Qualitative data from interviews will be transcribed and reported according to emerging themes while quantitative data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics such as the frequency counts and percentages
