This has been done to strategize as well as articulate a global and national agenda that includes women in conflict prevention and peace building. In 2007/2008, Kenya witnessed a major political instability caused by post-election violence. Relevant parties and groups have played different roles in resolving the conflict in order to maintain peace. This paper seeks to investigate the role played by women leaders in resolving issues arising from post- election violence. It will seek to establish the various ways through which women leaders participate in peace building, the amount of support they receive as well as the challenges they are facing. From the literature review, it is evident that flower farming is among the primary sectors that contribute significantly to the economy of this nation. On the other hand, it is growing very fast in a manner that it is quickly outpacing the other popular sectors of the economy. However, besides the economic effects of the industry, flower farming also has social effects on the citizens- either directly or indirectly. A case of Uganda has been used in the research proposal to demonstrate the impacts of flower farms on the school going children. Unfortunately, similar revelations appear to be unavailable for the Kenya situation. This further explains why the proposed research project is of utmost importance at this point. The economic and social impacts of flower farms on the academic performance of the secondary school learners across the country should be established. Naivasha region is known for the numerous flower farms available that are still growing. This explains why the region was chosen as the specific point of reference. The research study will use descriptive case study. The primary tool of research will be questionnaires which will be supplied to the 100 respondents selected through random sampling. As far as data analysis is concerned, descriptive statistics will be used.enProject
