This has resulted to various challenges on academic performance among the secondary school students. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between lack of parental love indiscipline cases and truancy, more so where single parenthood was concerned, and the academic performance among secondary school students. Children all over the world have varied rates of learning and development. While majority of children learn to acquire knowledge quite spontaneously, developing under the best teachers given to them. The reasons facing these learners are that, they have so restraining conditions within themselves that interfere with their normal learning. Consequently, they are described as having special conditions that bring great learning challenges to their teachers. As a result of poor performance by the learners from these families, the parents and teachers tend to blame these children. The research study helps to find out and correct areas that need intervention for the benefit of learners.enCurriculum developmentEffects of single-parenthood on academic performance among learners in Thiba zone, Kirinyaga county.Project
