The study was conducted in Miathene Location, Meru County. It used selected or sample Secondary schools to represent others since it will be hard to visit all the schools in the area. The purpose of this study was to highlight effects of HIV and AIDs in learning and performance in Secondary schools .The researcher used cross section research and questionnaire research method which gave more accurate results since the research method intended to study different schools. The research used questionnaires which were semi-structured with both open ended and close ended questions. The research also used interviews where applicable. The secondary source e.g. attendance registers to verify the data given. The data was later analyzed and presented by use of tables and bar graphs. The study could be used by the M.O. and M.O.H to help them tackle this problem in Meru County or to improve on support and management of HIV infected or affected persons. The result of the study could also benefit government in establishing ways in which the affected or infected school going children can be maintained in schools, learning and performance improved.
