Effects of drugs and substances abuse on academic performance in public secondary schools.

Abstract

The case study is the effects of drugs and substance abuse on academic performance in Public Secondary Schools. However main objective of this case is to study the causes, effects and remedies of drugs and substance abuse. Among other significance of the study is to help guidance and counselling clinics in our school. This is one of the basic challenges facing the school academic performance. It also helps the government agency make rules, spread messages and monitor things that affect health. The education stake holders are able to come up with forums that will expose learners on dangers of drugs intake and reduce their consumption. Other departments such as Rehabilitation centers and NACADA get the skilful information to campaign against drugs and substance abuse. Literature reviewed reflect on relevant danger of drug and substances effects, facts documented about drugs and information on mostly abused drugs and substances. Researcher uses observational designs and questionnaires that includes both closes and open ended questions. The location of the study is public Secondary Schools. The sample populations were learners in Secondary Schools. On data analysis descriptive methods is employed as well as tabulation table to consolidate the responses given in questionnaires and percentages, to quantify the responses in exemplified for. also graphs and charts were used.
