Causes of poor performance in kenya certificate of primary Education (kcpe) in public primary school in Baragwi zone , Kirinyaga East district.

The study was carried out at Baragwi zone Kirinyaga East District. The study was carried out in order to investigate the causes of poor performance in KCPE in public Primary schools in Baragwi Zone Kirinyaga East District. Three schools were sampled in which the focus was on pupils, teachers, head teachers and parents. The researcher achieved following objectives: identified factors to poor performance in KCPE exams in public primary school in Baragwi zone. Knew the concern of stakeholders in academic performance in Baragwi identifies possible solutions to problems and finally attempted to give some recommendations to improve performance in Baragwi Zone. Finance was a problem especially when it comes to travelling and paper work.
