Publication: An investigation of teachers attitude towards, physically challenged learners in science education in Ijara District, Garissa County.

The research study is on teachers’ attitude towards physically challenged learners in science education. The aim of the research was to find out the causes of physical disabilities and common types of physical disabilities found in Masalani primary schools. The study was to provide a number of benefits for learners, teachers, parents, community and government as whole. The research paper was to provide a mirror to the teachers and help them to develop a positive attitude towards physically challenged learners. This was to go along in making the physically challenged learners accesses education and subsequent progress in education. The researchers have adopted Erickson theory of motivation which state that “the education for physically handicap depends on the kind of motivation and treatment the teacher and society provide them”. The researcher has adopted research methodology known as survey research design. The research was carried out at Masalani primary school in Ijara district. The researcher used five primary schools to represent the other schools. The researcher used sample population where he targeted teachers teaching regular primary schools in Ijara district. The researcher singled out five primary schools to represent others in the district. The researcher used Radom sampling techniques in order to identify twenty teachers from the five schools who was to become the respondent of the research. The researcher used only one instrument known as questionnaire where he posed several questions to the teachers and analyzed the data quantitatively and qualitatively by talling it and tabling it frequency table.
