Abstract
The aim of this study is to carry out an Assessment on “Peacekeeping Operations and Economic Development in DR Congo, “Case of Conflict Zone of Bunagana”. The study has five chapters. Chapter one reflects on the introduction to the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study and the Research questions. It also gives highlights on the significance of the study and its limitations; the scope of the study. Chapter two is on literature review. It starts with a brief introduction and definitions of what literature review is all about; it then presents the related literature to be reviewed according to various themes. A comprehensive review and analysis of pertinent literature and documents focused on our topic, is carried out. We have also reviewed newspapers articles and published reports, studies and assessments conducted so far by different authors on the peacekeeping operations in DR Congo. During the review process, the topic information related gaps under this study have been identified. Chapter three presents the research design with methodology that was used in this study, the area and population of the study and the sample size with the sampling techniques. It also presents the methods used in data collection procedure and defines the data collection instruments. It is a combination of the desk review and analysis, interviews, questionnaires and observations. In this chapter, the researcher has been able to define the conceptual framework relating to the dependent and independent variables of the hypothesis, an assumption made about this research. Chapter four is about data presentation, analysis and interpretation where the researcher has been able to present findings from the ground, analyzed them and interpreted them. Chapter five is related to the summary of findings, conclusion and recommendations.
