| dc.description.abstract | I must congratulate the 2021 graduands of Mount Kenya University whose achievement we are witnessing today. I Am proud to associate myself with this success and I am confident that the graduands we are releasing today are well-prepared to join the world of work and contribute to the socio- economic development of our great nation, Kenya. I take this opportunity to salute parents, guardians and all stakeholders who have supported these students in various ways. I am confident that the university has given the graduands the right skills and knowledge to excel in life. I appreciate the current effort made by the universities in Kenya towards enhancing integration of the people of this region. These include the Inter-University Council for East Africa’s numerous measures which have led to a consolidation of the people in this region.Examples of these include the Lake Victoria Research Initiative (VicRes), as well as the support of inter – universities staff exchange programmes, regional conferences hosted on rotational basis in different countries, and many others including the ongoing discussions towards harmonization of academic university programmes. | |
