dc.description.abstract | This study aims at investigating the mushroom project and community development of Rwandan citizens. Objectives of the study were to identify types of mushroom which contribute more in the community development, to identify technologies which are used in mushroom cultivation and impact of mushroom in the daily life. The study had a great importance to mushroom growers in order to shape their strategies. It is also useful to students who will want to undertake research in this domain. Researchers will also use this dissertation for learning practical experiences in the domain of research. The study used a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods. As the target population was not big enough, the sample size and the population were equal. Questionnaires, interviews and observation were used to collect data. Data collected was analyzed, summarized and interpreted using descriptive statistical techniques such as total score and simple percentage. Data were presented in tables and charts. After the presentation the interpretation was done for each questionnaire. Findings of the study shown that mushroom projects have contributed too much to community development of Rwandan citizen in jobs creation increased the living standards, and extension of businesses and education. The study recommends Kigali mushroom farm to help farmers with other types of mushroom varieties and technology to become more innovative and competitive on local and international market. Farmers should make their businesses more professional. The government should create the national and international market for the mushroom growers. Famers and entrepreneurs should undertake this project because it for a great rent ability in term of profit and health. | en_US |
