This study aimed to assess the impact of performance contract on Government funded project case study DCDP Kayonza. Government institutions have continued living from the commencement of overseas management. They have been in management system far and wide throughout history. They used to be viewed as the go-between of colonization. They have therefore played a crucial role in the management-related and performance appraisal in Asia, Africa and South America. The performance contracts on government funded projects have been seen as instruments of improved worldwide relations. This is because they have greatly played a great role in promoting performance contracts management system in the Government funded projects. More so, present research entitled “Assessment of the Impact of performance contract on government funded projects a case study of Decentralization and Community Development Project” Assessment focused on these results during an implementation frame of seven years from 2005 to 2011. The idea of assessing the impact assessment of performance contract on government funded project is motivated by two main reasons. On the other hand, key stakeholders informally reported that performance contract on government funded projects contribute significantly to the development of the country. The study aimed therefore to establish whether or not what is said corresponds really to reality on the ground. The study focused both qualitative and quantitative methods. Consequently, structured questionnaires were developed to collect data from the DCDP-Kayonza key stakeholders. In this regard, questioners, focused group discussions and observation used as techniques to collect data and information. Sample size based on beneficiaries of DCDP Kayonza 64 administrative respondents. Analysis and interpretation were therefore followed to lead to conclusions and recommendations. More so, this study aimed at examining the determinants the impact assessment of performance contract on government funded projects in Rwanda. Particularly DCDP-Kayonza through Subsequently annual secondary data on different source of information data variables from 2005 to 2011 generated from public DCDP and other publications by the Government of Rwanda and data analysis from Reports.
